How do I use the blood glucose test strips?

To use a blood glucose test strip, you must first wash your hands with warm water and soap. Then pierce one finger with a lancet to draw out a little drop of blood. Then place the blood onto the blood glucose test strip. Next, you will then need to insert the test strip into the glucose monitor. The chemical on the strip reacts with the glucose from your blood sample to produce an electrical current. This is then measured by the glucose monitor. After only 5 seconds, the glucose monitor will then provide the reading of the blood glucose level; this ensures that the level outcome from the monitor is consistently simple to use, ensuring you that the reading has been taken accurately for monitoring your blood glucose levels.

 

How do I dispose of the test strip after use?

After using a strip, please dispose of the strip within your general waste. Please note these are single-use only, and disposal of lancets should be done separately. You can dispose of your lancet by placing the lancet directly into a strong plastic or metal container with a tight cap or lid, which should then be sealed with tape and disposed of in general waste and not with your recycling.
