AirFit F30: The minimal-contact full-face CPAP mask

The AirFit F30 CPAP mask covers the nose and mouth, ensuring that therapy air is delivered effectively. The compact and minimalist design features a cushion that seals around the mouth and under the nose. This provides a secure and comfortable fit and eliminates contact with the bridge of the nose. It connects to the CPAP machine via a flexible hose.

The soft mask includes ResMed’s “QuietAir” diffuser, which releases exhaled air through small holes rather than a few larger ones. This significantly reduces the noise and reduces the jets, which can be disturbing to those sleeping nearby.

The mask is suitable if you breathe through your mouth at night or have restricted nasal breathing. The mask is unobtrusive and allows you to read and watch television easily.

Features & Benefits of the AirFit F30

Minimal Design: The AirFit F30’s sleek design reduces facial contact, providing a clear field of vision. This is particularly beneficial for those who wear glasses or who experience claustrophobia when wearing a CPAP mask. Using the F30 removes all contact from the nasal bridge, one of the most troublesome areas for mask leakage and skin damage.

Ultra-Compact Cushion: The cushion design fits a range of facial structures and minimises the likelihood of discomfort from pressure points.

Quiet and Discreet: The AirFit F30 uses ResMed’s “QuietAir” diffuser. This venting system disperses exhaled air quietly, promoting a peaceful sleeping environment for the user and their bed partner. ResMed’s testing found this design to be 89% quieter than their previous mask. The diffuser is also quick-release, allowing you to disconnect the CPAP tubing easily.

Lightweight: The petite frame makes it very light. The frame and cushion weigh 50% less than the AirFit F20 (45 grams to 92). This allows you to sleep more naturally while on your side, with less weight pulling down. The padded headgear is similarly designed to make the mask less noticeable and encourage natural sleep.

Quick-Release Magnetic Clips: The magnetic headgear clips make it easy to take off and put on the mask.

Easy to Clean: The components are easily disassembled for cleaning.

Sizing your ResMed F30

1) To determine your cushion size (small or medium), click here to download the AirFit F30 full face mask fitting template. Print it to size and trim it from the paper.

2) Standing in front of a mirror, hold the template horizontally in front of your face and place it under your nose. Ensure it’s directly under the nostrils rather than on the top of the nose.

3) Select the matching cushion size (small or medium) based on where the outer edge of your nostrils contacts the template. Cushion size is based on the width of your nose rather than its length.

4) If the width of your nose breaches the template margins, size up to a medium.

Please note – The magnetic clips make this mask unsuitable if you wear a pacemaker. ResMed provides all sizes of this mask with the standard headgear size; it is also available in small or large if required. Alternative headgear sizes must be purchased separately and cannot be swapped.

Fitting

Once your mask arrives, we encourage you to watch this short step-by-step guide to achieve a perfect fit.

Mask Fit Insurance is available for this mask

If you are considering trying this mask for the first time, you can order in confidence using Mask Fit Insurance.

Mask Fit Insurance costs £14.99 for nasal masks and £19.99 for full face masks, and allows you to return this mask for a refund if unsuitable.

You have 28 days from the dispatch date to assess the mask and notify us that you are unhappy with it for any reason. You can return it and have it refunded (we must receive it back within 7 days of being notified).

The fee for the insurance is non-refundable once the mask is opened, as are any outgoing postage costs. The mask itself will be refunded in full.

A pre-paid returns label will be included for customers in the UK. We strongly recommend getting a proof of postage (which is free) as returns not received cannot be refunded. For overseas customers, the return postage will need to be arranged by the customer and this cannot be reimbursed.

CPAP masks purchased without insurance cannot be returned/refunded once opened for hygiene reasons, as explained in our returns policy.

Mask Fit Insurance must be ordered at the same time as the mask in question, and cannot be added retroactively.

Intus Healthcare reserve the right not to honour any orders containing multiple masks purchased with Insurance; please instead choose which mask you feel is most suitable and select the size required as per the sizing gauge (if applicable). Should you subsequently determine a different mask or size is required, you can of course return the first and order the other.

If you need any further information, please use the chat function (if available), or contact us.

Is the AirFit F30 suitable for all Sleep Apnoea patients?

The ResMed F30 mask is designed to accommodate a wide range of users. Full-face CPAP masks are designed for those who breathe through their mouth and nose during sleep. Commonly, those who snore and breathe through their mouths will be recommended to use full-face masks as these reduce air escaping through the mouth.

Can I use the AirFit F30 if I breathe through my mouth?

Yes, the AirFit F30 is a full-face mask that covers both the nose and mouth, making it suitable for individuals who breathe through their mouth during sleep.

The F30 CPAP mask is also suitable for mouth breathers with restricted nasal breathing.

Many people find full-face masks bulky and uncomfortable, but the lightweight design of the AirFit F30 is completely different and is designed for minimal skin contact.

How do I clean the AirFit F30 mask?

The mask components should be cleaned according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Typically, the cushion, frame, and headgear can be washed with mild soap and warm water, while the venting system may require regular rinsing to remove any debris. Check out this video for full details on cleaning your mask.

Can I use the AirFit F30 with any CPAP machine?

The AirFit F30 mask is designed to be compatible with all CPAP machines.

How often should I replace the AirFit F30 mask?

It is recommended to replace mask components, such as the cushion and headgear, as per the manufacturer’s guidelines, which vary based on usage and wear.

As a rule, the consumable parts should be replaced every three-six months or sooner if you notice signs of wear and tear. Continuing to use your mask when the parts are worn will reduce the effectiveness of your therapy.

With regular cleaning, you can extend the lifespan of the individual parts.
