With Wisp you get the best of both worlds

With the Wisp, Philips Respironics have combined the advantages of a nasal cushion mask with those of a nasal pillows mask, to create a pioneering nasal option to suit up to 98% of faces.

The unique tip-of-the-nose cushion is designed to sit below the nasal bridge to provide minimal skin contact for enhanced comfort and a superior seal.

The result is an unobtrusive design that provides a completely free field of vision, reducing claustrophobia and enables the user to wear glasses, read or watch television unhindered.

Fabric or silicone Wisp frame options

The Wisp has a choice of two frames. The fabric frame offers superior comfort for most patients, while the silicone provides a minimal appearance.

The headgear has five adjustment points to allow you to get the fit just right, while the stretchy, breathable material helps ensure it provides a secure fit throughout the night.

For those who find the minimal-contact style of a nasal pillows mask appealing, but prefer the comfort and security of a nasal cushion mask, the Wisp provides the perfect solution.

Mask Fit Insurance is available for this mask

If you are considering trying this mask for the first time, you can order in confidence using Mask Fit Insurance.

Mask Fit Insurance costs £14.99 for nasal masks and £19.99 for full face masks, and allows you to return this mask for a refund if unsuitable.

You have 28 days from the dispatch date to assess the mask and notify us that you are unhappy with it for any reason. You can return it and have it refunded (we must receive it back within 7 days of being notified).

The fee for the insurance is non-refundable once the mask is opened, nor are any outgoing postage costs. The mask itself will be refunded in full.

A pre-paid returns label will be included for customers in the UK. We strongly recommend getting a proof of postage (which is free) as returns not received cannot be refunded. For overseas customers, the return postage will need to be arranged by the customer and this cannot be reimbursed.

CPAP masks purchased without insurance cannot be returned/refunded once opened for hygiene reasons, as explained in our returns policy.

Mask Fit Insurance must be ordered at the same time as the mask in question, and cannot be added retroactively.

Intus Healthcare reserve the right not to honour any orders containing multiple masks purchased with Insurance; please instead choose which mask you feel is most suitable and select the size required as per the sizing gauge (if applicable). Should you subsequently determine a different mask or size is required, you can of course return the first and order the other.

If you need any further information, please use the chat function (if available), or contact us.

8 reviews for Wisp Minimal Contact Nasal Mask

Badly Designed. Unfortunately on my experience, the strap causes severe neck pain and discomfort. Head brace and straps unsuitable for my particular use on this occasion.

Comfortable but not suitable for travel. Found it comfortable. The plastic headgear section is made of a hard plastic outer and soft plastic liner. The outer lining split in several places very quickly and soft lining shortly after. This is a pity as it’s compact shape had previously made it my favourite mask.

could be. The plastic section of the headgear is hard to lie on and leaves marks if tight enough to stop the mask leaking. It would be better if the whole thing was fabric. make sure the nasal mask is wide enough for your nose.

Uncomfortable headgear. The headgear is very clumsy looking but comfortable enough during use.

As with TSM’s comment above, the strap also gave me severe neck pain and am now looking for a replacement mask as my neck pain is getting more and more unbearable.

Clumsy headgear. The headgear has a very clumsy design, it gave me severe neck pain. Not necessary to have so much strapping to the head and neck. Looking for a replacement for sure.

Pretty Good. This is the 3rd Wisp ive had, its the best mask that ive found. The new magnetic clips on the headgear are much better than previous plastic ones. Not a perfect mask, but pretty good, think ive probably tried about 15! Masks are a very personal choice, what suits one person doesn’t suit everyone.

Not worth the money.. I have a cpap machine from Philips and it is provided for via the hospital, I get issued these masks and headgear.

Pros: Easy to use and, for me, I do find it comfortable.

Cons: The fabric around the nose piece always breaks and then the inner strengthening part. They stretch over time and fail, I must go through three a year.

I do get mine free but am looking for a alternative that is better suited for wear over time. If I had to pay out for these I would be very disappointed.

Mask is good but quick release tube doesn’t last more than 3-4 months. The mask is very comfortable, but Philips had to replace the quick release tube after only 3 months, which they did at no expense to me, sending me two. But again after only a few months the second tube is leaking badly – the casing around the tube develops numerous small holes and air escapes, making the mask useless. I have asked Philips to look into this problem.

Is the Wisp Nasal CPAP mask compatible with any CPAP machine?

Yes – the Wisp Nasal CPAP mask will be compatible with all standard CPAP tubing/hoses and machines.

What is the difference between the fabric frame, and the silicone frame, with the Wisp Minimal Contact Nasal CPAP mask?

The Wisp nasal CPAP mask comes with two choices of frame. Both are as effective as the other, it is merely a choice for you, in what you feel would be most comfortable. While the fabric frame aims to offer superior comfort; the silicone frame aims to provide minimal appearance. It is a personal preference but either provides a pioneering nasal CPAP mask option.

How do I know which size Wisp Nasal CPAP mask to order?

You do not need to worry about sizing before purchasing the Wisp Nasal CPAP mask. Whether you order the fabric frame, or the silicone frame option – it will come with three different sized cushions, which gives you the freedom to experiment and gauge the best size for you.

How does the Wisp Nasal CPAP mask achieve its minimal comfort?

Firstly, the Wisp Nasal CPAP mask features a unique tip-of-the-nose cushion, which is designed to sit below the nose bridge. This creates minimal skin contact, for superior comfort and seal. Philips Respironics have taken the advantages of a nasal pillow mask and the advantages of a nasal cushion mask – and combined them to create the Wisp Minimal contact Nasal CPAP mask.

How do I clean my Wisp Nasal CPAP mask?

It is recommended to clean your Wisp Nasal CPAP mask, before its first use, and weekly thereafter. The Wisp Nasal CPAP mask can be disassembled very quickly and easily. First, remove the elbow from the cushion, and then peel back the cushion from its frame. Then wash your Wisp Nasal CPAP mask in warm water, with a mild detergent. Do not use any solutions with bleach or alcohol in on your Wisp Nasal CPAP mask, as this can interfere its life span. One washed, rinse thoroughly with warm water, and then leave the disassembled parts to air dry. The Wisp Nasal CPAP mask headgear does not need to be washed every day, but instead it should be washed weekly; in the same way as the cushion and tubing. You can also buy some CPAP Mask Wipes here
