Reduced size, modern design

The DreamStation range of CPAP machines are notably smaller and lighter than they System One predecessors. The main DreamStation units themselves weigh around 15% less than their System One equivalents – already favoured for their compact size. This allows you to travel more easily with your CPAP machine, and short of opting for a dedicated second machine for travel, the DreamStation represents arguably the best combination of size, features and performance available.

Tracking your CPAP therapy has never been easier

Philips Respironics have made allowing patients to keep on top of their therapy a top priority with the DreamStation range. As a result, the DreamStation provides to most ways of allowing patients to view their sleep data that we’ve seen. As usual, the data can be downloaded from the SD card (included) by your healthcare provider. However the full colour display also means you can access the important statistics on the machine itself. Thirdly, if you have a compatible iOS or Android smart device (not included) then you can use the DreamMapper app to view more in-depth statistics and data graphs. It is certainly the most comprehensive, focus-focussed data reporting feature set we’ve seen in a CPAP machine to date. If the DreamMapper app is of interest then we recommend checking compatibility with your device prior to purchase. The App Store link for Apple devices can be found here, while the Android Play Store link is here.

Important: The DreamMapper App is not available in every country. In Europe, it is currently is is available in the UK, Ireland, Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland at the time of writing. If you live outside of these countries it may not be available to download, though you can still return your SD card to us for analysis instead. However Philips are working on rolling the App out to additional countries, so please see if your country is listed on the drop-down box on this page to see if it has been made available for your country.

Optimised humidification temperatures

As with most CPAP machines, the DreamStation machines can be coupled with a humidifier if desired. The DreamStation Heated Humidifier is available separately and can be found here. As is the norm, the DreamStation Heated Humidifier has various temperature settings that you can adjust to suit. However it also features and Adaptive mode, which monitors the ambient humidity of the room and adjust the temperature of the water accordingly. No guesswork or trial and error required – you can rest knowing that you should be getting the right level of humidification regardless. The DreamStation Heated Humidifier slots neatly onto the main unit and shares the same power supply, so there’s no need for a second wall socket. If you are unsure if you need a humidifier or not, then you can read our guide here. If you did wish to purchase the DreamStation Heated Humidifier, then you can add it to your order here.

Auto Start and Stop

The DreamStation Auto can detect if and when you start or stop using your CPAP machine. If you need a toilet break during the night, for example, you do not need to worry about fumbling about for the right button. Simply take your mask off and the machine will power down, and once it detects your breathing again it will resume automatically. This is another small feature which, when added to the other little touches Philips have added, show how patient-focussed the DreamStation is. Please be aware that this feature is actually disabled as standard, so do let us know prior to dispatch if you would like us to enable this for you.

Never forget to change your filters

Modern CPAP machine requires no maintaince other than regular changing of the filters. Many patients do not realise how important this actually is; clogged filters can reduce the performance of the machine and over time the filters will start to disintegrate. It is therefore important to keep on top of this as directed; and the DreamStation range now has automatic reminders when each filters is approaching the end of its lifespan.

Exhalation relief for exhanced comfort

Philips Respironics pioneered exhalation relief technology, which sees the machine lower the pressure it is providing slightly when the patient is breathing out. This allows the patient to exhale against less pressure; making it easier and more comfortable. Phillips have further refined their A-Flex functionality (their name for exhalation relief) to make the transitions between inhalation and exhalation smoother and more natural than ever before.

Important Information: This is an ‘automatic’ CPAP machine, which as the name suggests, automatically adjusts the pressure for the user, although it can also be set with specific pressure settings if required. 22 reviews for DreamStation Auto CPAP Machine

very good machine. bought this auto cpap and its very good. The stats that is shows and the fact that it bluetooths the info to mobile devices is great. 1st thing every morning i can look at my apnea events (AHI – full apnias/part apneas/Hypopneas)/ time machine used/ 90% pressure/ mask leakage etc…..there are also additional stats on the machine itself. Bought with the humidifier & all seems to work well. I think its quiet…seems to be when I start it but i wear ear plugs sonot really sure on that. Easy to change the settings also i.e min/max pressure / ramp pressure & time.

Nice and easy to use, mobile app is a plus. Upgraded from an s9 to the dreamstation, is a much nicer design. The mobile app is a real bonus for monitoring how things are going.

Brilliant. As a first time user of Cpap this has been transformative. It is small, well made, silent and very easy to use. Only sound is my breathing. Bluetooth info to app very simple. From first night’s use I slept soundly (unheard of for past 30 years) and Ahi down from 31.5 to between 1 and 3. I only wish I had found this years ago.

Amazing. I took the plunge and bought myself a Philips DreamStation auto CPAP machine and I’m very impressed. I struggled with my previous machine but the auto pressure delivery on my DreamStation, is a game changer for me. I was really struggling for a good night’s sleep before switching but managed a full 8 hours on my first night!

6months. Been using for the last 6 months and it is much better than my last machine. It provides more information to allow me to monitor my OSA, and is also quieter than my last machine.

Wish I had upgraded sooner. I had been using a Philips Respironics System One for about six years. I take it everywhere, hotels, planes, trains wherever I need to sleep. The System One is a bit bulky to travel with so when the DreamStation came out, I didn’t think I could justify the cost. But it’s absolutely marvellous, easy to use, so lightweight and takes much less room in my luggage. Airlines are happier as it’s quieter. I have a smartphone, so I downloaded the app and transfer the data via Bluetooth from the CPAP. It gives me the reassurance that I’m compliant and not having problems with a leaky mask or anything. I wish the power adapter was a little smaller, but that’s the only thing I can find fault with.

Brilliant. Brilliant machine. Absolutely superb customer service, the staff were all extremely helpful… superb fast delivery.

For a better night’s sleep. I am really pleased with my recent purchase of the Dreamstation Auto. Whilst my previous 2 machines prevented my apnoea, they did not contribute to a restful night! However the DreamStation immediately impressed with it’s whisper quiet background noise. The only obvious sound now is the sound of my own inhale/exhale. The result is a real improvement in the quality and restfulness of my night’s sleep. Would I purchase it again? You bet I would!

Wish I had bought this ages ago. I was prescribed a NHS CPAP resmed machine about 4 years ago. I struggled with constant pressure so bought a resmed S9 autoset which was better. It was stolen in a car theft and having found Intus and the Phillips machine, I would say it is like discovering double cream instead of single. I am sleeping better than ever and the service frrom Intus is exceptional.

Excellent Machine. The Dreamstation is a really excellent CPAP machine. It is compact, easy to use and very quiet in operation. The Bluetooth app is also very nice to record your nightly progress. I have found it quite easy to get used to; my sleeping has improved and my snoring has reduced significantly!

    Sleep machine

Every easy to use and understand. Also very quite and a good size to sit by your bed.. Every easy to use and understand. Also very quite and a good size to sit by your bed.

Worth it. Having been a long term user of Resmed machines(initially supplied by NHS) it did not occur to me that there were other providers. Having become disenchanted with Resmed I looked on the net and found the Dreamstation. It is more expensive than the air sense 10 but when unpacking it I was immediately impressed with the quality of the build and the ease of operation – especially with the humidifier attached. It is very quiet in operation – I have no complaints about the quality of sleep either. In fact I feel it has greatly improved my sleep quality.

I have only one niggle – the fact that there is no off switch. One needs to switch it off at the mains. Other than that it scores 100%

A sound nights sleep. Runs quietly and efficiently with the comfort of the variable pressure and exhalation relief. Instructions were clear and easy to follow to get it set up and all comes in a smart padded travel bag.

A great product. Hi, I bought this to combat my sleep apnea and so far the results have been very good. I feel much less tired during the day, and my Apple Watch is telling me than my quality of sleep is much improved. My snoring has reduced to almost nothing too! The product is very easy to use and monitor your last night’s sleep with the phone app, and is very quiet – you only hear the air movement. It is a bit pricey but for 10 years of expected service, it is worth the price for better quality of life. Very happy with it so far.

Easy to Use. Brilliant machine, easy to use and set up, straight forward and good interactive app to keep track of things.

Excellent nights sleep. This machine is absolutely 1st class. From the ease of use to the build quality. The Philips app is a really useful tool that allows you to set your own personal goals as well as see how you actually slept during the night. The additional SIM or WiFi modems are brilliant in that they allow you to send the data directly to your clinician rather than posting SD cards

Excellent product. Best nights sleep I have had in a long time and able to see at a glance how my therapy is working

Very quite compared to other CPAP machines I have used and exceptionally comfortable.. I have used several other makes of CPAP before. This one is by far the most comfortable. Its runs very quietly and the automatic adjustment to changes in pressure when breathing out makes for very comfortable breathing. I did not realise what a difference this would make.

Fantastic. I already had a non automatic Cpap machine but the automatic function and the app on my phone which give me the user info on a daily basis, makes this machine worth itsweight in gold.

    Delighted, and money well spent

Troublesome. I bought this machine about 8 months ago and I have had all sorts of error codes running on the system after performance check. It doesn’t compensate for Mask leakages and the humidifier doesn’t work effectively it drys my mouth so much that I wake up three times on a night. My personal experience was a bad one. I am thinking of buying another machine.

Better than the Pro. The hospital started me with a Dreamstation auto – to ‘calibrate’ me. Then switched me to a Dreamstation Pro. The pro wasn’t as comfortable being near constantly set at the pressure needed when I was at my snoriest, but all night. I’m pretty sure the ‘auto’ is the same device as the ‘pro’ – but with a ‘magic screwdriver’ applied to deliver the comfort of an auto, with quite a price uplift to match. I cracked after 3 months and paid out: I wanted the more comfortable machine that’s easier on me when I don’t need much pressure.

EU-PAP did demand proof of CPAP prescription which did promise to (or could have) delay delivery, but I had mine onhand – it felt a bit of a privacy invasion though. Delivery was prompt as proof was speedily accepted. I find the ‘off’ button difficult to reach – perhaps a standalone remote “off” and “ramp” button would help (on my phone perhaps?). The machine could be quieter with some sort of muffler on the tube. Can I switch the machine to ramp when I’ve woken when things are bad – there’s no need to keep the pressure when I’m awake? I’ll try that sometime.

easy to use, silent, comfortable. better than many other machines ive tried especially with the Fisher and Paykel nasal “Brevida” mask. easy to use, silent, comfortable. better than many other machines ive tried especially with the Fisher and Paykel nasal “Brevida” mask
