Mandibular Advancement

Mandibular Advancement is a clinically-proven treatment for Mild Sleep Apnoea, and also some Moderate cases.

They’re also useful for any severity when it is difficult to use your CPAP, for example on a long-haul flight or somewhere without reliable mains power. A Mandibular Advancement Device can provide an effective short-term option in these cases, providing a good level in Sleep Apnoea severity when otherwise you would have none.

A Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) or Splint (MAS) is a mouth guard-like dental appliance which gently pulls your lower jaw and tongue forward, creating more space at the back of the throat, reducing and sometimes preventing apnoea and snoring from happening.

The Somnofit is one of the best and most comfortable of such splints which you can mould yourself. This makes for a good temporary alternative to CPAP, especially for mild OSA.
