What is a myAir Score?

myAir calculates a new score each morning based on your previous night’s sleep data. Your score is created using these factors: usage hours, mask on and off, mask seal and breathing pauses per hour (AHI -Apnoea Hypopnea Index). Your score is calculated out of 100, so how can you achieve the best score? Let’s break it down:

Usage hours – The longer you use your CPAP device, the more points you will receive out of a possible 70.

Mask on & off – The amount of times your mask is removed throughout the night. The less this happens, the higher the points you gain out of a possible 10. It can take some time to get used to your CPAP mask, and we advise that you persevere for 14-21 days to get used to it and adjust the fit. If, after this time, you are having trouble keeping your mask on at night, you may want to consider a different CPAP mask type.

Mask seal – This factor considers your mask’s seal and being comfortable with your mask. The more your mask leaks, the fewer points out of a possible 10.

Events per hour – The remaining 10 points are factored in by your apnoea events per hour (AHI). This calculates your number of breathing pauses (apnoeas and hypopneas) per hour throughout the night.

What is a good score on myAir?

The quality of sleep you receive is calculated by your myAir score. Your score depends on the number of usage hours, events per hour, mask seal and how often your mask is taken off. The highest and best score is 100. However, if your score reaches 70 or above, it is considered good. As long as you continue your therapy and your score improves over time, there’s no rush to meet the perfect 100.

How do I access ResMed data?

Shortly after each therapy session, data from your ResMed machine will be available in myAir. You can access your app at any time to understand how effective your therapy is. Your myAir score is constantly updated to show a daily snapshot of your therapy.

myAir Compatability

Here are some machines that feature the myAir app:

Once a CPAP machine is purchased and the details are loaded into the system by your device supplier, you will receive an email to create a ResMed myAir account.

You will need to download the myAir app and log in to your account. Once you use your CPAP machine, it automatically wirelessly connects and uploads your data. You then can start tracking your sleep therapy progress.
